Universal Studios Florida theme park's new DreamWorks Land to feature Shrek, Trolls, Kung Fu Panda
Universal Studios Florida will open a new attraction area called DreamWorks Land this summer, replacing parts of the KidZone area next to the E.T. Adventure ride.
In a few months, visitors will experience attractions inspired by DreamWorks Animation’s "Shrek," "Trolls," "Puss in Boots" and "Kung Fu Panda" movie franchises, according to a Feb. 29 Universal Orlando Resort news release.
The themed entertainment company revealed new details about what visitors can expect, including a family coaster, interactive play areas, live entertainment and character meet-and-greet areas.
Fans of the 2001 hit film "Shrek" should have plenty to see. Beside Shrek's 35-foot-tall cottage, Shrek’s Swamp Meet will offer opportunities for guests to meet the iconic ogre, as well as Princess Fiona and Donkey.
Nearby, interactive lily pads will have visitors stomping to produce a symphony of frog ribbits. A playground for small children will include a splash pad, four slides and more. A snack kiosk will feature themed Shrekzel, Far Far a Waffle and Frozen Ogre snacks.
Also in the swamp, an immersive digital experience in the Puss in Boots-themed Mama Luna’s retirement home for cats will be activated by buttons, bells, maracas and levers.
