Winter Garden looks to redefine who can sell booze after midnight

As the city of Winter Garden pursues a new city-wide ordinance designed to further regulate the sale of alcohol beyond rules already in place, some stakeholders are concerned the potential move by the municipality might not be a good thing.

Charlie Roper, who with his sister Becky owns and operates Pilar's Martini and Loft, told Orlando Business Journal he has worked with the city to see improvements to the ordinance since the first draft was circulated in August — and noted the city has been open and listened.

City commissioners will vote on the second reading of the ordinance Nov. 14.
