See Grand Bohemian Orlando hotel's updated pool
Grand Bohemian Orlando's downtown revamped sixth floor pool deck, now open to the public rather than just the hotel's guests, has seen a lot more traffic in recent months.
Making the Altira Pool + Lounge accessible to everyone has raised year-over-year revenue by $1 million in that space alone, according to the hotel's top executive. The 1,750-square-foot pool deck was the first phase of renovation that was completed this summer, so the hotel has had time to determine its success.
Grand Bohemian General Manager Benjamin McCarney, who declined to reveal the amount spent on the pool deck renovation, told Orlando Business Journal in addition to opening that space to all, the transformation has grown the amount of comfortable patio seating from 36 seats to 120. The Grand Bohemian also added a full kitchen there, a waterproof canopy, a full bar with a countertop, tile flooring, an outdoor shower and four ceiling-mounted 42-inch televisions, in addition to making pool updates and replacing the wheelchair lift.
