Raytheon in Indialantic wins multimillion-dollar Navy contract

The Department of Defense announced on Nov. 17 that Raytheon Cyber Solutions Inc. in Indialantic has been awarded a $13,862,993 contract for cyber technologies to be used in tactical operations. The contract is for a 20-month engagement, but if the Navy decides to exercise the additional 18-month option, the value of the contract will climb to $27,029,493. 

U.S. officials have openly acknowledged offensive cyber operations as a form of warfare that manipulates, disrupts or destroys targeted computers, information systems or networks. Offensive cyber is the flip side of cybersecurity, which is designed to prevent such interference.
