Citrus Club lunch spot debuts major overhaul
Citrus Club, the downtown Orlando membership society for businesspeople, underwent a complete transformation in recent months. This came on the heels of other changes, like a new general manager — James Gelfand — and a new chef — Chris McKenna, both starting last July.
While there is much to explore in the club, today’s discussion is exclusively about the lunch experience cooked up by McKenna.
To begin with, lunch is served in The Grove, a dining room and work area with a full bar and many seating configurations to serve a variety of party sizes and uses. It is about 2,300 square feet, seating about 80. A more formal dining space called the Tangerine Room has the same lunch menu. That room is about 2,000 square feet, seating 60.
The members-only club is busiest on Wednesdays and Thursdays, said Gelfand, but it's never any trouble to get a table at lunch, though reservations are available.
