Many Red Lobster restaurants close abruptly in Orlando and nationwide

In the face of financial difficulties across the country, Orlando-based Red Lobster has closed many of its restaurants throughout Central Florida, including Orlando, Sanford, Altamonte Springs, Kissimmee and other area locations.

The restaurant chain lists as "closed” sites at 3552 E. Colonial Drive, 7373 W. Colonial Drive, 8003 Golden Sky Lane, 340 W. State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs, Town Center Mall in Sanford, 4010 W. Vine St. in Kissimmee, 10010 U.S. 441 South in Leesburg and 3162 S. Atlantic Ave. in Daytona Beach Shores.

Restaurants at 5936 International Drive, 9892 International Drive, 617 N. Alafaya Trail and locations in Brevard and Volusia counties remain open, except the one in Daytona Beach Shores.
