See who's bidding for Disney district's new contract

Twenty-one prospective bidders have filed proposals in response to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District's request for operational assessment proposals.

The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District oversees the 39-square-mile governing jurisdiction and special taxing district created in 1968 for Walt Disney World Resort's (NYSE: DIS) land that acts with the same authority and responsibility as a county government.

The district’s leadership is seeking a prioritized list of reform strategies with associated action plans for implementation.  

Orlando-based Fischer Consulting LLC is one of the bidders, and CEO Lance Fischer said in his view, a successful assessment boils down to basics, emphasizing the fundamentals of running and fine-tuning an organization: "a few business principles, good training at every level and communication.”
