Izea expands global reach with Australian acquisition
Orlando-based Izea Worldwide Inc. (Nasdaq: IZEA) on Dec. 3 announced it has acquired Hoozu, an influencer marketing company headquartered in Sydney, Australia. A day later, the firm's top exec has been hearing from investors.
“I've been having some good calls this morning. I think that it caught some people off guard today because we announced it on Sunday,” said CEO Ted Murphy of Izea. "We did that because it was already Monday in Australia. We had to do it because [President and Chief Operating Officer of Izea] Ryan Schram is in Australia doing a client tour and media tour. We needed to have that information out in the public domain before he could do that.”
The acquisition is one element of a global expansion plan for the firm, which recently opened offices in China, South Korea and the United Kingdom. Further, Izea has rolled out new platforms and major platform updates throughout 2023.
