Caribbean Moonshine opens Orlando retail spot
Caribbean Moonshine craft rum distillery has opened a retail spot with a twist in the tourist district at Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets.
Caribbean Moonshine’s “shine slingers” — the staff working at the store's sample counter — tell the back stories of each of the five rum flavors sold at the company’s first branded retail spot at Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets. Customers who walk up for a free tasting get a flight of five mini-shots paired with a narrative — memorized and shared by the slinger — designed to deepen a customer’s attachment to Florida as a rum-making state.
Meanwhile, employees known as “shine runners” sell the rum in five flavors: Passion Fruit Prohibition, Marmalade Mayhem, Cat 5 Coconut, Banana Breeze and PB&C Cannonball.
