Interview with Tony Jenkins of Florida Blue

Tony Jenkins has been market president at Florida Blue since 2006, and he says the role has been everything he could have asked for and more. One reason is that his company has put him in position to effect positive change. 

“We’ve been in West Lakes trying to help from a health equity standpoint for probably 15 years,” he said. “And then, a couple of years ago, Florida Blue decided to develop a specific initiative around helping solve generational poverty. We picked five ZIP codes throughout the state and settled on the name Growing Resilient Communities for the program. In total, we invested $8 million across those ZIP codes.”
