Fashion incubator and Orlando agency team up for show
While it’s best known for tourism and aerospace, some local designers hope Central Florida becomes a hot spot for fashion. That wish may become a reality. Orlando Business Journal has learned that a global brand will be scouting local fashion designers at an upcoming fashion show.
Orlando-based UTG Agency’s Ultimate Fashion Show for Charity is an annual event that focuses on local design and consistently puts Orlando designers in the spotlight. It's coming up on Dec. 17, and it could prove to be a game changer.
“We're in our fifth season. Our venue is beautiful, we have a great team of models, the backstage management is on point thanks to [UTG Fashion Director] Ana Duperval and people always tell us what a great time they have. Most importantly, we're on track to help more local underprivileged kids than ever before. We always designate proceeds for a local charity," said UTG's CEO Rich Brown. "Coming into this season, we were looking for a sponsor that would add another layer to what we're doing. We wanted to make sure that local designers and brands experience the show as a portal to bigger opportunities. That's why we connected with [online fashion retailer] Shein.”
