Harold Mills on risk, reinvention and investing in the future

Harold Mills remembers the early days of building ZeroChaos as full of excitement and enthusiasm. It was 1999 and Mills had big ideas on how companies could better manage non-employee labor such as contractors and freelancers, optimize workforce spending and ensure compliance with labor regulations. 

“The idea that we had a concept that could solve a specific problem for our customers felt almost thrilling,” he told Orlando Business Journal. “We were convinced if we went about the work in building the technology platform, diving deep on the legal and regulatory requirements, understanding customer requirements and how the business model would work, then nothing could stop us from changing the world.”  

While Mills and his colleagues thought doing the research and putting in long hours of work was enough to make the idea explode in the marketplace, they were dismayed to discover it did not.
